how to configure basic setup nginx in freebsd?
Did you search a bit before? What have you tried so far? https://lmgtfy.app/?q=nginx+setup+freebsd&iie=1

I have a freebsd vps that has been configured in the domain, so i setup in /usr/local/etc/nginx.conf listen 80; server_name mydomain.com; but i cant access the nginx default web page. The default page before configuration is nginx proxy manager page, is configured by vps administrator, on the page says If you're seeing this site then you're trying to access a host that isn't set up yet. even thought i have configured it, how to fix it?

It looks like you need to configure proxy settings in vps admin panel. Your nginx looks good. Use ee instead nano 😭
K
Avoid exposing MySQL unless strictly necessary
K
What is ee?
Like Ed, ancient Unix editor
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
What is ee?
BSD 'nano' text editor
K
AH never mind then
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
ed was born with the first AT&T UNIX, as you say, ancient Unix editor, almost the first one. ee is a bit more modern in time and concept, it pairs better compared with nano

With Sun VTOCs and u flags for read-only on a partition and the -u flag for FreeBSDs mount I wonder, just a coincidence or did somebody "copy" from the other?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
@leonMCMXCVI those are a lot of flags! Welcome to the room
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Cool! Installed as a desktop or as a server?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Great

Hello there @k1n9007
XADE
can edbrowse run webapps?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
https://github.com/CMB/edbrowse It might send bad data across the Internet, causing you to buy a $37,000 elephant instead of $37 worth of printer supplies. I didn't know about edbrowse but what an intro ))

Why not just use lynx?
I never used it neither. Does it perform fine?
Anonymous

It does its job pretty well, that is browsing the web without JS

Guillermo
Ok I have this case
Guillermo
I have 2 laptops
Guillermo
1 I use for my stuff, mainly school
Guillermo
The other is clean. Both FreeBSD 13 with latest patches
Guillermo
How can I move all my pool to the clean machine?
Guillermo
I've tried zfs send/receive
Guillermo
But it keeps failing with broken pipe
Guillermo
Do I need to unmount the pool on the destination?
Guillermo
Or in both?
Guillermo
Do I need to erase the pool on the destination?
Guillermo
Or receive it as a new pool?
K
You send datasets
K
I did that for both rootfs and other datasets
K
You are using datasets on top of your pool right?
Guillermo
Right
Guillermo
I was thinking about sending only my /home dataset
K
Yes take a snapshot of it and use zfs send
Guillermo
Thanks @svartj I'll try that
K
Have fun!

Did you install xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin?
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Hmm. I never used pulseaudio outside linux. On FreeBSD I use oss. Can you still access to pulseaudio control through the command line?

Improving block I/O compatibility in bhyve As part of providing a robust virtual machine infrastructure, a hypervisor needs to offer a variety of features for working with disk input/output operations, since these are essential for running most operating systems. In this presentation, Sergui Weisz details the steps taken in developing, debugging, and evaluating the interface provided by the bhyve hypervrisor for using image disk files. source: https://www.bsdcan.org/events/bsdcan_2020/schedule/session/43-improving-block-io-compatibility-in-bhyve/
