Also "trying zpool export zroot" gives: Cannot unmount '/var/log': Device busy
you have to do it from a live environment as your root pool is already imported

Hello sir I am using pfSense and I think it is very restrictive, doesn't allows me to install man or apropos or whatis for read the manuals, I want to use pfSense as I use any other Linux... I know that under pfSense it is freebsd but I have not the official repos :/
etherbeing
Can you give me please the list of official repos to install common tools at pfSense?? And thanks beforehand
Antonio
pfsense is not Linux, is not a General purpose operating system
Antonio
based ON freebsd to build a firewall

😭 what makes then pfSense so special??? nat can be done just with pf or iptables, squid is an external package doesn't belongs to pfSense, and so on ... why should someone use pfsense ?? I know this is a freebsd group but if someone knows please I will be glad to hear :)
Badugar
pfSense is optimised to be a firewall, nothing else. (afaik)

A Firewall operating system with a few extra packages the authors regarded as useful for a firewall, not a general purpose operating system. No need to call anything "a shit"

😅 yes i was joking 😉 I just mean that could allow more ... like any other Linux I think pfSense also could have manuals 😅

pfSense is not another Linux Distro, please don't confuse that. And if you want to have a full OS with firewall, I recommend you the official FreeBSD Handbook, it covers that subject probably too.
Badugar
Maybe even in spanish, but I'm not sure, my native language is german

🤔 wow, that's new for me, I always thought that is just that, only another Linux distro... 😁 I will study more about pfSense and try to do what I want with that

Today, trying to make Zoom via Firefox Web Client put out sound was... frustrating. Didn't work at all, does anybody maybe have some tips?
Badugar
Maybe a bhyve VM with RDP client is less of a hassle...

I have just updated my laptop, it went very smooth, freebsd 13 feels faster

I began the installation yesterday and was surprised by the new font, new logo on boot and the all known smoothness 😊

Can’t wait to be done configuring the system

Well, I got dedicated server and no physical access. Just SSH. Is that possible?
mrphyber
I'm not sure about that though

As per Handbook, I added nvidia_load="YES" to /boot/loader.conf, and restart. Now it seems I can't boot FreeBSD because EFI has insufficient space once the Nvidia module loads. I've now seen in the forums the module shouldn't be in /boot/loader.conf for this reason. Is it possible to skip loading that module on boot, so I can get the system started?

Efi/UEFI disabled?
UEFI is enabled and in use.

IDK it can be help you or not. you can setup nvidia driver up with: Section "Device" Identifier "NVIDIA Card" VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation" Driver "nvidia" EndSection in /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/nvidia-driver.conf file i installed nvidia driver from repos. and i use Legacy boot, no UEFI.

UEFI is enabled and in use.
so disabled it maybe or the security stuff of it

Hello and welcome @LIMITLESS_IO
Miles
I'm trying to install FreeBSD on an Asus ROG Strix G512LI laptop but my keyboard doesn't seem to work when booting
Miles
it works fine on the bootloaders command prompt n before booting
Miles
but when booting freebsd the space key sends my device to sleep, Tab , Enter , and the arrows are the only buttons workin
Miles
struggled in the installer with the same issue but I managed to get it installed somehow however I'm unable to use it now
Miles
help
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
That's weird
Miles
it indeed is , I checked my bios settings but can't actually find anything that should do with it
Miles
however it doesn't in the bootloaders prompt which makes it even weirder
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
yep ,
And during install you selected the proper key layout right?
XS
The bootloader uses a different keymap system afaik
Miles
which should work fine I suppose
Miles
the keyboard was messed up even during the set up
Miles
n I don't have an external keyboard which is a big issue in the current situation
XS
But a space bar acting as acpi suspend key... Never seen that
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
which should work fine I suppose
Should work fine aslong as the keymap is en.US I had issues with an UK keyboard being layout as US but it was happening inside X session, not tty 🤔

I can't seem to be able to do anything otherwise I'd install x n I'd happily take a bug or two to debug there 😅💔💔
XS
Does it happens with a different keyboard ?
Miles

Bad luck
