My presumption is that it is for Pi2-B or before and or maybe the "Compute boards" of same generations.

A few weeks ago, I saw a 13RC-1 OR -2 with an ending name specifying PI-2B somewhere in the tree but haven't seen it since. downloaded it, burned it to an sdhc and powered up with an HDMI monitor and a USB keyboard. all I saw of the yellow led was a VERY VERY short flicker 2 or 3 times. so after many tines trying to get freebsd onto my PI2-B, still waiting for a successful try. my 3-B however has seen success with a 12.2, and 2 13RC-3 cards, the second of which being a 32GB CARD and at the moment is doing a build world mostly as an experiment because PI3-B is still TIER-2 which means no other way to update. Comments? Rebuttals? Observations? Questions?

Hey everyone... I'm trying to install FreeBSD but the mirrors are so slow that I can't install lib32 in installer.(I live in iran btw). Any suggestions ??

And anybody have an idea how long a build world in an RPi3B of '13-RC3 SHOULD take? -Erfan, is that lib32txz? Thats nice to have but you can grt up and run with base.txz and kernel.txz and do all your configurations. then download lib32.txz overnight and install next day.

Looks like network install is not the best option for your region. Use disk1.iso or even dvd. https://docs.freebsd.org/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/bsdinstall-pre.html
Erfan
Thanks. I will try it.

how about the transition from "old" zfs to openzfs? if you made it, was it smooth?
mrphyber
Does it change automatically via the upgrade?
I don't think so. It should be a zpool upgrade
mrphyber
I'm honestly a bit reluctant to upgrade as I have pretty important stuff on my pools
mrphyber
I'm sure that the new zfs code is stable if freebsd devs have merged it, maybe i'm being paranoid

ah no you aren't - the sorrows between "old" zfs and openzfs is quite normal IMO!

maybe you are right, probably I'm going to wait a couple of months prior to the update to 13, read the forums and see if anyone gets into any trouble whatsoever

yes 😊 I guess that's the best decision for you and reading/waiting for the experiences; maybe also some fixes
Andriy

Usual zfs upgrade following usual freebsd upgrade. Nothing special here.
Andriy
Anyway, backup your data.

Andrey Would u stay on stable port or freshport for more current software on FBSD 13?

Andrey Would u stay on stable port or freshport for more current software on FBSD 13?
Depends on system. For desktop i prefer release system with latest pkg. Sometimes it gives broken DE after pkg upgrade but i like to have a fresh software.
