I'm on Legacy
From Legacy readme: ===> NOTICE: This port is deprecated; you may wish to reconsider installing it: Obsolete version, use drm-kmod. It is scheduled to be removed on or after 2020-12-31.
tim
no, drm-kmod is not a driver
Gianmarco
I have rebuilt them and now they works again ... I think FreeBSD should post the correct pkgs for 12.2-RELEASE and not wait 12.1-RELEASE go in EOL.
dapit
drm-legacy-kmod on FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE doesn't work.
It will work but you need to compile it from ports
Gianmarco
I understand it is a builder cluster problem but the kernel related ports should be provided.
+
So we should get the kernel source tree
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Oh, thanks for the info. Also, it's always good to build stuff from ports when pkg fails
Gianmarco
I can post them here but they are binary ... you should not trust to binaries send by other persons but if you want try :)
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Oh, not my case. I'm on bleeding edge with current, fighting against drm-kmod and compiling ports since I got an APU last year 😅
Gianmarco
... for this reason I stated they should be provided by FreeBSD itself ... :)
Pouria
so we should wait to 12.1 go in EOL?
Gianmarco
90 days probably ...

Oh great. How's this possible?
Z
(besides nanobsd I mean)
Z
Have any examples? I was thinking of compiling the whole FreeBSD system using DESTDIR then do the same for ports. But don't know how to do that with ports.
Z
That is ok. :) And sorry in advance that I live in a country under U.S sanctions and can't pay you ..
Z
Gentoo-ing FreeBSD?? 😆
Somehow. It's more like debootstrap I think.
Z
cd /usr/ports/dir/name && make clean install clean
I know this, I need to know how when I perform build world these things can compile with the whole system in the resulting ISO.
Z
Welcome my dear.
