I am trying right now but:
Gianmarco
Gianmarco
yes | freebsd-update upgrade -r 12.2-RELEASE --not-running-from-cron
Gianmarco
as I said before when we arrive to the merging files the unattended mode breaks...
Gianmarco
probably it should be nicer if the freebsd-update will finish the job and then prints and save the list files that is unable to merge automagically so the user can launch a different manual process :)
Gianmarco
with a new different program probably :)
Gianmarco
other unattended breaks
Gianmarco
Gianmarco
Gianmarco
probably defining as ENV PAGER=cat eliminate the last type but not the merging ...

The name i use for my personal scripts ... I have scriptodevices, scriptovolume, scriptoi3, scriptoevents, scriptonotifier, etc etc and scriptorun is the complete name for all of them
Carl
The real name would be script'o'run ... Because i like the famous punk recopilatories punk'o'rama 😂
Carl
I am just trying to make my life easier with my script pack .. They are growing step by step and they are portable so i am confortable because i use always the same routines no matter what operative system is .. I do not need more complex programs 😜 the easier the better
Carl
i was and i am at job yet ...maybe i can find some usefull ideas to add, i will take a look tomorrow 🤓, thanks a lot

If you insist on having a ready to go desktop just try NomadBSD or FuryBSD.
aldebaran 🇮🇹
Last FuryBSD images https://sourceforge.net/projects/furybsd/files/
neb
Yes, I just read it! I talked to the dev in the group a few months back and he said it was coming. He wanted to join the GhostBSD effort IIRC.
aldebaran 🇮🇹
You can still use them to install, I think 🤔

@hector_vega use the one you're more familiar with. I've heard of Qemu too, but never tried it
ɴꙩᴍᴀᴅ
Well, in FreeBSD you can just pkg install qemu and then configure it and run it from the terminal with steps like the ones shown here As far as I'm aware you don't need any extra software

Anybody here having problem with sound from earphone jack in 12.2? I have hissing sound coming out from it, never before in 12.1
dapit
I regret upgrading to 12.2 from my stable sweet 12.1 system, I got problems after problem since the beginning (compiling that damn drm-kmod etc....)
Dirk (dinoex)
There is bhyve in the base System. and a handful of SW to manage VMs e.G. chyves, cbsd, cloneos.
Dirk (dinoex)
Bhyve can use your CPU Features for virtualisiation, so you can have better performance. https://wiki.freebsd.org/bhyve

hallo. i want to ask about quota management in freebsd 12.2 is there any command line to set quota without edit via edior. example like edquota -u alfariz 1G:1G
Alfarizz
https://blog.danmassey.net/freebsd-quotas-bulk-updates-using-perl/ on this article he said there is tools called 'setquota' but on freesd 12.2 i cant find it

man quota – display disk usage and limits edquota – edit user quotas If one or more -e fspath[:bslim[:bhlim[:islim[:ihlim]]]] options are specified, edquota will non-interactively set quotas defined by bslim, edquota -u alfariz -e /home:1G:1G

On my KDE desktop, I once had trouble with <input amplification> in sound mixer. This slider was not put to "0" value => hissing sounds. When I put it back to zero, those sounds vanished. Astonishingly, they came back for a couple of minor updates / reboots. After readjusting them to 0 for 3-5x, the problem went away...
