I did frankestein it up a bit. Like installing NomadBSD to disk and then upgrading to -CURRENT, but optimistically thought this would be a nice opportunity to learn.

No, no - I appreciate the act.
Actually haven't given completely up.
I just need to sort out this error I think:
KLD i915kms.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch
linker_load_file: /boot/modules/i915kms.ko - unsupported file type

NomadBSD is FreeBSD

Use Freebsd
I'll try.
But I doubt drivers are ready for my hardware.
neb
Be happy to help test, though.
Anonymous
If you're testing than you should post these issues through the according channels
neb
I just wanted my laptop to work :)
I could make a forum post describing my issue, butbthe best thing is probably, as you say, to install FreeBSD from scratch and do it the right way.
Anonymous
Yes I did that in that way and worked for me

Cool.
I'll see if MWL will help me install...

Those books traveled around the world.... And I think they are gold
Anonymous
Oh man you're a good observer
neb
Is sponsoring and money
In the early days the universities exposed generations to UNIX/BSD - now they get Google/Microsoft.
Expose kids to it, and yes, get companies aboard (Like Apple/Netflix today) and devs and money will come.
neb
Oh, thanks
