Why docker package from fedora updates is not updated?
Lilithium
04.04.2018
09:53:16
Most likely because either no one came around to bump it or because it has blocking bugs on Fedora

whats the point of doing that?
I guess the Docker one to provide the latest versions, and the Fedora one to provide the ones that are supported by Fedora
so Fedora is independent and will continue to work if Docker would one day say that they don't care anymore
Giovanni

A safe redundancy

Also, the Fedora ones are most likely better tested by their CI

Docker has two versions.
The community version and enterprise.
community is following year.month, but the "old" versions still get patches.
Oh wait, with docker it was engine versions

mount —bind will
I still dont get why you put your home on an external drive dynamically.
Kawaii
04.04.2018
12:20:09
so now i just put the important folders on a seperate partition and put links into my /home
there probably is some middle ground
Also I share these folders with my freebsd install
So fedora dotfiles can potentially fuck with my freebsd gnome dotfiles
if there was a way to separate user media folders from user configuration data folders that's what I'd do
Nick
04.04.2018
12:28:48
but
if /home in separte partition you will be able to reinstall anything you want without home data loss
