They even made it better like typing / or ~ or ctrl-l will allow you to enter a location yourself, from / or ~ respectively and focus the input bar.

On a more positive note, Nautilus has starring now...

Afaict, it still has tabs. (Imma try 3.28 tomorrow, I mean on 3.26). I mean that it has starring files....

Well, Sublime's interface didn't catch my attention and provided I have to pay for it I didn't want to use it. And about Vim... I don't like it.
Themes exist. Like I said, its vim but with a GUI. Anyways, I always arrive at something similar to VS Code /Atom after tweaking it. Speed is its only advantage. Not wanting to pirate it is the only reason I use Atom. Oh and the fact that it integrates with KDE's global menu.

Their reasoning behind removing it.

And since .24 or .26 gnome also resizes windows when you put two next to each other.

Wait, doesn't GNOME already have that ability? Plus, quad "snapping"?

I always notice these Things - where more advanced users rely on shortcuts anyway and the menu only is in the way it might be useable for older senile persons. But really, most of that stuff should be removed. The only questionable thing so far was notification bar now being a plugin.

I see nothing there shortcuts cant do better.

My computer is a powertool - saved space for more code onscreen is always better.

And tools that are 100% available in the right click menu and via shortcut... i mean come on.

Those dont belong triple in an application.

Oh the new process monitor is named gnome-usage

That happens all the time in the open source world. pfsense does major license fuckups, opnsense becomes the successor. Observium does the same, librenms becomes a thing. the gogs developer disappears often, gitea starts. owncloud > nextcloud. One thing does bad or is replaced, many or most devs switch/community switches over and the old project becomes a shadow of itself.

Tobias?

Yes, that doesn't means that previous versions need to disappear because a new one happens
But in most cases it will fall more and more out of shape as it doesnt keep up holding to the newest standards and co.

Different things they fulfil, different Audience.

And enough devs doing multiple different things for the same end purpose at the same time that behave different. But if gedit3 came out maintaing gedit2 wouldnt make much sense imho
