Some people don’t use it.

And e-mails of course.

Because people I need to be in touch with don’t all use only Telegram.

There are various reasons to turn it off. But I wouldn't call them good :D One of the comments says: "It breaks controlpanel like Plesk" That for sure a (bad) reason to disable it but what does it tell us about plesk? ^^

That's easy ^^ setup a test VM, set SELinux to permissive and setup plesk. Just read the first 50-100 SElinux reports and you'll understand the problem ^^

Definitely an option, yeah. But just because SELinux throws a fit about something doesn't mean that something is an issue in itself.

It screws with TLP. What does that tell us about TLP? Absolutely nothing. ?

Just that a profile needs to be configured for it.

Yes and no. The basic statement of SELinux is here: Think about your system's security. This can lead to a reconfiguration of SELinux in terms of setting booleans, writing new policies or throw away/fix the software because it does things it shouldn't do.

But this isn't the case if the software does exactly what it should do, and SELinux has an issue with it. It's not always the specific software that's the problem. Though I can't speak for Plesk as I've not used it, it's definitely a good idea to check why there are denials or the like, but not always the fault of the software.

At that point it's about keeping SELinux in check and not the other way around. Making SELinux aware that what that program is doing IS correct, and that it shouldn't interfere with it.

I completely agree. It's not always the software's fault. That's why I said you may have to adjust existing SELinux settings or write new policies. On the other hand there is software that does exactly what it should but leads to big security issues (like Plesk), so you should re-think if you really need it or not

Because plesk is such a huge hunk of shitty management software doing all kinds of shit i'd want it to declare ahead of time what it can do and in the event of it being hacked not affect anything but plesk and stuff it manages.

Ah, that's using the VimixDark-Beryl GTK theme that the system has, but I've installed Powerline and enabled transparency @20%
