I am trying to research guest features exposed by Hyper-V VM, especially the Gen 2 VM. I have implemented the Hyper-V Enhanced Session mode over VMBus transport on Windows 8 which is not originally support this feature. (I am trying to port that to Linux and learning how to write a Linux kernel module for exposing that VMBus pipe to the Linux userspace.)

I think maybe we can try to reuse drivers from Hyper-V Guest Additions, which supports Windows NT 5.2.

But I'm also doing some reverse engineering for these drivers because I want to make my UEFI application (it's a specialized OS kernel optimized for aggressive paravirtualization in my research) work better in Hyper-V Gen 2 VM.

Hyperbased in Hyperspace: There is also a build fix so at least Linux 6.6, which is expected to be this year's Long Term Support (LTS) kernel release will at least have IA-64 support in good standing should anyone actually use it. that should be enough bridge for anyone who actively uses the platform
