Windows 10 just looks like the GTK fallback theme and they forgot to make a real theme
Dmvrr
Maybe I make GTK 3 like theme, as GTK 3 is similar to windows 7, in a way
Chungy
By that I assume you mean Adwaita (the default). Have fun with any theme you plan to make, go for it :)
Maybe it's unlikely to be included in ReactOS but that shouldn't stop you, they can always be installed anyway.

DOS and xenix enter the chat
this message got me thinking: could DOS executables be made compatible with ReactOS one day or dosbox is already enough for running them?
Mike
Mike
It already runs a lot of programs
matt
which one?
Mike
Reactos own vdm
Momade
Mike
No! Reactos ntvdm
Momade
Mike
https://reactos.org/wiki/User:Petr-akhlamov/NTVDM outdated but the concept is there
Momade
Mike
It's the one shipped with ros
Mike
I meant the concept on how it works
Mike
https://reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14491 it's been there for a few years
Mike
Idk
Mike
Still, both are good vdm
Mike
And easier than dosbox
Momade
Aha. That's what I was missing: "ntvdm.exe myAncientGame(BOR).exe" to start it. So, you need to start it from cmd. Never would've guessed. Only missing the integration (ie, ReactOS infers that "BOR.EXE" is a DOS executable, and tries to "automagically" run it optimally on the ntvdm when you open the executable)
matt
when reactOS will hit version 4.18+ or so, I will probably test it for a while to see how good it is for the task I want to do
matt
I have some archaic programs that I need to test to see how well they run

Solid state keyboard they say

same technology as the one used in iphone volume buttons on recent models, instead of using mechanical parts they'll just use haptic-feedback sensors to give the user the illusion of the buttons being pressed
matt
at least according to my own ideas on how it should work based around recent developments at apple

matt
this feature is one of the hardest thing to do because you have to understand how the human brain and senses work
matt
that was the home button
yes, but it was also implemented on the recent iphone pro models as a replacement to the traditional mechanical volume buttons

That's a lot of cores
Mike
Mike
If so, could it be possible to run 7zip benchmark on them and compare with windows? 😍
Chungy
huh. i didn't know ReactOS had SMP now

Hahaha

I wonder if reactOS will work on a dual CPU amd epyc workstation or rack server with double the amount of cores available
Victor
Victor
And it will start only 1 core
matt
And it will start only 1 core
with the latest update things could change drastically, maybe it will also work with dual cpu workstation builds
Victor
Which update?

Lol

That's just CPU cores shown in device manager

They are not being used in any way

But The DarkFire has worked on SMP, hasn't he?

is the file searcher in reactOS better than the one on windows?
matt
heard many complaints from windows power users about the file searching feature not being good enough on windows 7 or later (not sure if this problem persist in windows 11)
Mike
Matrix Telegram Bridge
hbelusca Z[J]=∫𝒟𝜑 exp(ⅈS[𝜑,J]/ℏ): the filesearcher in ROS may be at most at "good" as in windows 2000/XP/2003, minus any support for the indexing service.
