ReactOS can only use up to 4GB of RAM, and the last GB of that is usually hardware address mapping.

The 64-bit port will change that. I suppose PAE support can also let the 32-bit version use up to 64GB of RAM. The value of such a thing is probably diminishing.

the tl;dr It defines a page table hierarchy of three levels (instead of two), with table entries of 64 bits each instead of 32, allowing these CPUs to directly access a physical address space larger than 4 gigabytes (232 bytes).
