Just took a look and it seems version 6.0 is Silver on wine appdb
𝕩iluembo
But the report there says that many commands / applets do not work

So what's listed on Silver for Wine 3.x may be considered "Gold" or "Platinium" on 4.x

what would be a nice way to make gui applications in reactos? I don't even know where to get started

If you want to contribute directly to ReactOS, the only way is writing in C / C++ and WinAPI. Otherwise it's the same as for Windows.

And Lazarus, but have some cosmetic errors with flipped images. www.lazarus-ide.org

also does anyone else have a problem with images on browsers?
Chungy
@x86corez @Mark_Jansen I'm guessing Steven Dale is not in here to talk about ReactOS. I smell troll instead :P
Stas'M
I have no clue who Steven Dale is
See admin logs 🙂

Well yeah this morning I was talking with him obviously, don't know who is this guy as well. Someone from here may know him

Just downloaded latest release of reactos, and I'm quite impressed... Opera works way better than before... Python 3.4 works fine... Overall way lot stabler on VirtualBox... 👏

Congrats

Report is about old kde for Windows 4.10.2
Do you have a valid mirror for the packages?
Anonymous
You should fire up a pull request to the RAPPS GitHub (so your app will figure on the Applications center)

Has ROS 0.4.13 already been beta? Or alpha yet?
Anonymous
ReactOS 0.4.13 is out of dev stage
Anonymous
It's in release candidate or something similar, idk what post dev build stage is called
✝️ ☺️🌞 HD Scania
ROS already RC stage? Just few weeks before productional?🧐
Anonymous
Idk, but 0.4.14 dev builds started
✝️ ☺️🌞 HD Scania
So i’m waiting for 0.4.14 alpha😊
Anonymous
Anonymous
iirc this version will be bigger than 0.4.12 and smaller than 0.4.11
✝️ ☺️🌞 HD Scania
Still sized about 100MiB for the first productional release?🧐
Anonymous
Wasn't 0.4.12 delayed?
Anonymous
Anonymous
It came in mid-late september iirc
Anonymous
However I'm almost 100% sure that as 0.4.13 has been in RC the same week 0.4.12 got released
Anonymous
We're already getting far in the RC
Alejandro Jeditobe
Do you have a valid mirror for the packages?
I don't, but it used to be on KDE web site
Alejandro Jeditobe
So i’m waiting for 0.4.14 alpha😊
Feel free to Download it at nightly builds page
Mark
Has ROS 0.4.13 already been beta? Or alpha yet?
We don't go trough alpha and beta stages for releases like that
Alessandro
ROS is alpha
Mark
They simply have rc's which stands for release candidates
Alessandro
every release is alpha, atm
Mark
It simply means that each build is a candidate to be released

ReactOS doesn't support USB boot, only RAM disk boot from USB, see https://reactos.org/wiki/Installing_ReactOS#USB-RAM_boot

The ReactOS option inside Rufus is broken as well, as it's an issue on our end

Is it possible to install ROS this way ? Well, it wasn't when it was introduced, but I think it might have progressed since
Anonymous
It is possible since 0.4.12
Well yeah, it got introduced in late nightly builds iirc
Anonymous
But I thought it was just a RAMdrive live USB, and didn't saw an installer in the dev build that got that commit

When I try to RAMboot liveCD normally, I get a BSOD

Unlike BSD or Linux which are more productions ready, i always recommend testing ROS under a virt like QEMU, ROS is still alpha stage which should be expected for bugs
Eris
never hurts to test it on real hardware either way

I read it, but no reason to PM someone

People are allowed to do anything with ROS, exept kang it and claim as their own

what for? 🤔 what was the purpose?

Telling to him so, ROS is less productional ready than BSD or Linux
✝️ ☺️🌞 HD Scania
If you've been experienced in BSD and Linux, this still doesn't equal to the similar in ROS
Anonymous
If I wanted to daily drive that spare netbook, I'd slap winXP on it
Eris
Telling to him so, ROS is less productional ready than BSD or Linux
weak argument when you consider that people are in the insider program
Eris
also a weak argument when you consider that people willingly use beta software
Eris
yes reactos isn't stable and you'd be one insane man to install it on your daily driver, which is why you can either a) use a VM or b) another spare computer
Eris
both'll help reactos immensely (arguably the real machine testing as well so that it'll be more "production ready")
