Jose
I have tryed to intall Lazarus 2.0 RC2 but freeze ReactOS, same as with 1.8.4, it only occur when using BTRFS not with FAT32. Also happened in previous daily builds since BTRFS enabled. Something is not completed for the correct implementation when a lot of files are managed.

The video in a nutshell:

Linux: Open-source drivers

Windows: Use our drivers or die.
Mark
That is not this video in a nutshell at all
Mark
Clearly you don't have the first clue what you are talking about
rosbridge
<Cernodile> @Auron: You can make closed source drivers on Linux too, I don't see your point. It's just the developers were nice enough to open source them on Linux.
Anonymous
I use Linux mint.
Chungy
nvidia keeps their drivers closed source/proprietary on Linux
Chungy
probably the only major ones still in use
Олександр
And Broadcom
Chungy
pretty sure everyone uses the reverse-engineered drivers these days. I can't say for sure, I don't have any broadcom hardware :P
Олександр
WiFi and Bluetooth still require proprietary blobs or firmware, and Bluetooth is the most annoying since it's license restricts any sharing outside Windows installer package.
Chungy
uhhh
Chungy
my system uses both of them just fine without any non-free blobs installed
Олександр
Not on my chip
Mark
I see what you did there

No, they are related to Android.

I advise everyone to update their Android, because it is important, and vulnerabilities are critical

Mark
timo ran reactos on his smartphone
Chungy
qemu?
Mark
yeah I think he used that
Jose
Carlos
It only virtualizes when is ran with KVM
Carlos
Which is only possible on Linux
Carlos
https://youtu.be/F3E_GWrCZXQ
Carlos
Also i attempted to flash a motherboard BIOS under ReactOS
Carlos
I don't recommend doing that though
Chungy
QEMU virtualizes on Windows too
Chungy
with HAX
Chungy
also KVM is available on FreeBSD, NetBSD, and illumos all, not just Linux :P
Stas'M
Stas'M
It doesn't use hacks 😁
Chungy
wat?
Stas'M
Chungy
accel=accels1[:accels2[:...]]
This is used to enable an accelerator. Depending on the target
architecture, kvm, xen, hax, hvf, whpx or tcg can be available.
By default, tcg is used. If there is more than one accelerator
specified, the next one is used if the previous one fails to
initialize.
-enable-hax
Enable HAX (Hardware-based Acceleration eXecution) support. This
option is only available if HAX support is enabled when compiling.
HAX is only applicable to MAC and Windows platform, and thus does
not conflict with KVM. This option is deprecated, use -accel hax
instead.
Stas'M
Chungy
it's in the current manpage :P
Stas'M
They renamed to HAXM to avoid confuse with hacks 😅
Chungy
heh
Carlos
Well
Carlos
I didn't hear much about HAXM
Stas'M
(comes with Android Studio)
Carlos
Also has anyone tried to run a ROM flasher in ReactOS?
Carlos
I tried award winflash in ReactOS 0.4.10
Carlos
And successfully flashed a bios to the motherboard
Stas'M
Stas'M
Make a video :)
Carlos
I did link
Carlos
Many messages before
Stas'M
Carlos
I didn't even expect it to work or even flash it successfully
Carlos
Although i don't recommend doing that
Carlos
Especially due to ReactOS state
Carlos
Carlos
At the end

Carlos
I still have to try the ami flashers
Carlos
I need to find a duplicate/throwaway board with Ami bios
