Now I am doing this properly?
rosbridge
<BieHDC> you cant @-us, its disabled and you would need to know the tagnr
Никита
Now I am doing this properly?
@matterbridge_1_bot <BieHDC>
BieHDC
no, it doesnt work
Никита
no, it doesnt work
Okay, I will install KVIrc
Никита
;D
Stas'M
Okay, I will install KVIrc
I don't think KVIrc supports Discord protocol
Никита
no, it doesnt work
where are you sitting?
Никита
I am on IRC
rosbridge
<BieHDC> discord
rosbridge
<BieHDC> i see you through our mirror :D IRC - tijesefBOTheute um 18:56 Uhr tijesef: BieHDC, well I see it's better to use IRC
Eris

Никита
we see like this
Am I just a BOT for you? ;(
Никита
That hurts
Никита
Well you are a cat
Stas'M
Well you are a cat
A cat is fine too...
Никита
A cat is fine too...
Not in that sense?
Eris
^ oh no, not you again
Benedict
Any of you tried using Multisystem to run ReactOS off of a usb? I think it uses Firadisk to emulate a disk so it doesn't crash, I think.
Benedict
I tried it nope.

Also it'd be sad if he downloaded w2k or wrk src somewhere.
Lets stop making FUD and empty assumptions. There are tons of legal ways to code a PNP manager without stepping into illegal ways
Anonymous
Fyi, we have a Bot that is testing today tons of NT* APIs which are not publicy documented
Anonymous
And it was done in a total legal way
Anonymous
By listening the driver or the apis
Anonymous
And learning which parameters is receiving and which behavior is expected (returned values)
Anonymous
So you can code it as a Blackbox (Params In and Results Out)
Anonymous
Add to that information abot how the Plug And Play Manager works
Anonymous
(Publicy available in MSDN and Osdev sites)
Anonymous
And done
Anonymous
We have enough with non-community guys saying and spreading nosenses...so lets be clever here
Stas'M
Anonymous
Just 2cents: If ReactOS would have used leaked code or source code...do you think ReactOS would have being coded for 15 years and still with bugs?
Anonymous
So guys, lets be clever and stop conspiranoias ;)
Anonymous
It was just a serious concern since lolkekovich didn't find a certain function anywhere else. but as Fraizeraust said yesterday through matterbridge bot, kernel debugging is a thing and reveals a lot of symbols and functionality you wouldn't otherwise find even on production builds of Windows, while maintaining clean-room.
Anonymous
So I'm not that much concerned anymore.
hacker12455
Same here.
Anonymous
I'm just going to continue hope that we will see PnP stack come to light soon
Anonymous
PnP is one of the major causes of hardware run failures.
hacker12455
When it happens, it's gonna be a great day
Anonymous
I have high hopes for this.
Anonymous
currently my main PC can't boot due to pnp stack
Anonymous
Yup Pnp is a big hack
hacker12455
Well, my laptop thankfully boots from USB using a VGal build
Anonymous
and now vgal is making it from a hack to actual well-built/structured thing.
Anonymous
And USB needs, because it is massively using PNP, a decent one
Anonymous
my laptop works with vgal build as well.
Anonymous
but not on PC
Anonymous
The work he has done so far is amazing, so many drivers replaceable with win2k3 counterparts
Anonymous
Which also means much better driver support

Никита
Okay he answered
Никита
Install WinDbg and VirtualKD, connect these two programs to win2003 in virtualbox, congrats! You now see all these functions!
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> Yeah. This is what I have been trying to say to you guys here yesterday. Windows Debugging is a great option to look at the inner core of the OS.
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> If you don't believe me, ask Alex Ionescu. He did the same to understand NTOSKRNL (in fact, most of ReactOS NT kernel code is built by him).
Никита
Maybe on it's own
Anonymous
trial & error
Stas'M
It is also possible that he uses kernel mode tests
Anonymous
replicate circumstances and replicate results
Anonymous
besides Vadim has learned this since Q1 2018
Anonymous
it's like what, almost Q3 of 2018 now
Anonymous
He's simply putting what he has learned into use.
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> When you debug Windows with WinDBG, it reveals lots of operations, occurences, debug values, return values, etc etc. With all these investigations and research you are putting all of them in a code which you must write it yourself.
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> As Cernodile said, it is still a trial & error since the expected result might different slightly.
Anonymous
Well, it can vary by hardware configuration to hardware configuration.
Anonymous
That's why we have constant bugfixes.
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> That's true. But it shouldn't be of a big problem.
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> (now that we're talking about WinDBG. Since I am curious too about NT Internals I might want to install WinDBG as well)
Anonymous
Well, I hope the logic vgal has put behind implemeting functions are solid enough to not need constant patches.
Anonymous
if that's the case, usb won't be far and pnp solved would leave a small percentage of hardware configurations unsupported either due to newer architectural changes or bad configuration.
Anonymous
while majority of configurations around 2011-2012 and below should behave mostly fine as in "can boot and open notepad"
rosbridge
<Fraizeraust> To be honest, the majority of issues is also caused by incomplete and un-proper implementation of our NTOSKRNL. PnP is one of those.
