ok since he’s offline.. so I read literature and wrote algorithms for managing cluster nodes in a decentralized way and replicating objects (to keep states replicated for each cluster node) but now I am kinda stuck thinking about node discovery and post-actions after node being discovered. for now I have multicast/static ip discovery, so yeah, nodes can discover each other, but here’s my hitch: how it should be handled? should every node on discovery create a new tcp socket (since multicast discovery is udp-based) or use the same discovery mechanism to share info (+use acknowledge packets to keep track of each other/heartbeat stuff)? what if I have for example 100 machines running a cluster node, so there will be 100 socket connections for each node? I really want to understand how this mechanism should work lol
