BinaryByter
lets all agree that its stupid to enforce that
BinaryByter
sometimes, an if (something) return stuff; is much cleaner than if something: return stuff
BinaryByter
not to mention weak typing
BinaryByter
imagine you have a function getStringLength (a)
BinaryByter
what happens if I call
BinaryByter
getStringLength (1)?
BinaryByter
python won't have a problem with this
BinaryByter
since its weakly typed
BinaryByter
and no matter how good you are, fuckups like this wil inevitably happen
BinaryByter
might as well make the compiler catch them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
BinaryByter
ahhh wait
BinaryByter
compiler
BinaryByter
sorry, python is interpreted only
BinaryByter
isn't that slow?
BinaryByter
I think so, yea
BinaryByter
</hatespeech>
Ariana
c#
BinaryByter
C# is slow
BinaryByter
but else workable

Hello
Talula
C# is slow but really not too bad...
Ariana
I prefer Db
Talula
I tested it with things C# is like 20% slower than C++ but overall it's fine, much simpler to work with compared to C++
Ariana
c# is a mess
Talula
But fastest compiled language that can do anything is Pascal actually..
Ariana
what
Ariana
my eyes
Ariana
they hurt
joel
what's c# even used for
Talula
I don't like C# because of .NET but as a language it's okay.
Talula
As a language Pascal is horrible but as a compiler Lazarus and Delphi are really powerful.
Ariana
But fastest compiled language that can do anything is Pascal actually..
You know sometimes gcc optimise it better than a human, like the code can get nearly unreadable if written by a human (in assembly), so assembly isn’t necessary the fastest
Ariana
ofc a human could write it but the code would look like
Ariana
hell
Ariana
You need like some weird loopy recursivy crap for assembly to cripple
Ariana
oh but assembly is definitely slow to code in
Talula
I have a very small and short term memory and I can't remember when I write something long in assembly this is why I don't even look at it.
Talula
Have you tried Lazarus?
Ariana
I use physical notes when writing assembly xd
Ariana
i dont rlly see a purpose in pascal when c is easier
Talula
not yet
As a compiler and tool it's very good but Pascal SUCKS as language...
Ariana
But why bother if pascal sucks XD
JCodePeace
JCodePeace
And C++
JCodePeace
So, you can use pointers, namespaces and other features
Talula
i dont rlly see a purpose in pascal when c is easier
Purpose is native GUI application that is cross compiled without changing a single line of code between, Windows/Mac/Linux/Android/iOS
JCodePeace
But, there are only few libraries
JCodePeace
???
What?
Talula
I didn't understand what you mean by Pascal ABC...
JCodePeace
It is a Pascal-similar language
Talula
I'm talking about Lazarus which is Object Pascal.
JCodePeace
It is also object pascal
Talula
I don't care about Pascal it sucks bad already but the tool... if I could program it in C# I would love it.
JCodePeace
it is some kind of lazarus
Talula
JCodePeace
No it's not.
I know lazarus and Pascal ABC
Talula
When you say C# is like Lazarus because Pascal ABC is like C# then... no you don't know.
JCodePeace
And GUI and functionality are similar
JCodePeace
Pascal ABC is a bunch of different features
JCodePeace
It has the same UI creator
Talula
Let me check it.
JCodePeace
Try
JCodePeace
In code it is similar
JCodePeace
It has the same objects
Talula
Pascal ABC can't use FPC
Talula
So it's not like Lazarus.
JCodePeace
Because it was created by C#
Talula
Yeah but that ruins the whole purpose... I use Lazarus because it creates native applications, I hate .NET even though I love C#
JCodePeace
And I do not think this dispute is necessary
JCodePeace
It is the C/C++ char
JCodePeace
But, I do not know for sure
