## Rules #pinned * You are not entitled to an answer, getting angry about not answered questions will get you warned. * Not checking your problem in google (or any other search engine) first will get you a warn. * Asking for something that is in the pinned message right after joining WILL GET YOU BANNED. * C/C++ discussion preffered (assembly also allowed), asking about other languages (or groups for other languages) right after joining will get you BANNED. * Reverse enginnering, hacking and related topics are allowed, but asking to hack facebook, instagram, etc. is NOT allowed. Also if you ask "how to become a hacker" and obviously have zero knowledge on anything related to that you may get warned or banned. * Legitimate requests for help on code and programming questions are welcome. A request is considered legitimate if it describes your problem, what you've done so far and what went wrong. Requests such as "write my program" or "do my homework" are never considered legitimate. Asking not legitimate questions will result in a warn or ban. See https://stackoverflow.com/help/mcve on how to write good questions. * Asking for book recommendations is ok, but "pls give pdf book" is not allowed, find books by yourself. Posting illegally copied books (or links to those books) is also not allowed. * Only English language is allowed, if you speak shitty English or don't understand anything in English YOU WILL BE BANNED. * A little bit of programming related memes, jokes, shitposting are allowed. * NSFW content (porn, nudity, etc.) is not allowed. * Spamming/advertising (job posts are also ads, so ask an admin before posting) will grant you a warning or an immediate ban if you do it right after joining. * Religion, politics and ideological topics are forbidden. * Long code snippets must be posted via a snippet website(links below), posting pictures of code and posting long snippets in the group is not allowed. * If you encounter a problem, while using turbo C++, you will not be helped, use another more modern IDE. * Don't post compiled executables, that is obviously a security risk ## Resources About asking good questions: * [English](http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html) * [Translations](http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html#translations) For posting long code snippets: * [GitHub Gist](https://gist.github.com) * [Ubuntu Paste](https://paste.ubuntu.com/) * [Pastebin](https://pastebin.com) ## Reports If you notice any forbidden content, please use the /report command while responding to the offending post to report it to the admins.

Dima
NO THEY DONT
Dima
they won’t learn
BinaryByter
so I won't help it
Dima
I don’t remember if I told some story but there’s a really big company ordered really huge product to implement, they had ordered the product from some large indian company and what they made was a total disaster, it was super buggy, like 1000k reports a week
Dima
and they also make the worst software
Anonymous
they care less about their own problems than I care about them
No they cares ...that's the reason they ask questions
Anonymous

Keep asking unlogical things
Joe
hi guys I`m trying to send integer values via socket in the format [int_counter][space][int_value][\n]. what i tried so far is this: send(new_socket , counter , strlen(counter) , 0 ); send(new_socket , " " , strlen(" ") , 0 ); send(new_socket , value , strlen(value) , 0 ); send(new_socket , "\n" , strlen("\n") , 0 );
Joe
obviouslz this doesn't work
Joe
how would you do this?
Dima
why several “send” calls
Dima
put in one
Joe
arguments seperated by ','?
Joe
sorry using send the first time
Dima
char buffer[..] strcpy(buffer, counter); strcat(buffer, “ “); strcat(buffer, value); strcat(buffer, “\n”) send(new_socket, buffer, strlen(buffer),
Dima
yes it is lame
Joe
thanks a lot I will try this
Joe
yes it is lame
why? seems to be the fastest option of sending data isn't it? :)
Joe
error: invalid conversion from ‘uint32_t {aka unsigned int}’ to ‘const char*’ [-fpermissive] strcpy(buffer, in_idx); error: cannot convert ‘double’ to ‘const char*’ for argument ‘2’ to ‘char* strcat(char*, const char*)’ strcat(buffer, arrayA[in_idx]);
Joe
how can i convert them?
BinaryByter
feed your long into a stringstream
BinaryByter
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5447316/convert-long-to-char-const
Joe
i think that's exactly what I'm looking for I'll try that
BinaryByter
it is :D

Yep, mysterious, happens every day
What could it be? 🤔🤔
DaviC
I already write before but i can see my message anymore... Can anyone explain me how to implement a JAL risc-v instruction in c++? Because i know how to take the offset's bits (the 20 first bits of the instruction) but if i add them to my PC it doesn't take the correct result (my result is an address memory that doesn't correspond to the right address where i have to jump)
BinaryByter
except he was given some nasty architecture that he has to expand
olli
except he was given some nasty architecture that he has to expand
Why is MIPS nasty? It's pretty common in education
BinaryByter
Why is MIPS nasty? It's pretty common in education
well, I don't have a lot of context, but what he was given, was MIPS but in a butchered way. for example, with code memory and memory memory being separated
BinaryByter
but then, I don't know enough
DaviC
What are you doing? A CPU simulator in C++?
yes a cpu simulator, but with risc-v architecture
