If a thread has to run for a long time, how to monitor/prevent the thread from dying?
many
I see. So I don't need a watchdog per thread
BinaryByter
No

There is so much to consider when making 24/7 app
BinaryByter
Don't leak

Memory leak is definitely a great concern. Btw is there a way to detect memory leak?
BinaryByter
valgrind
BinaryByter
But if you dont use pointers you are generally safe
many
It's hard to avoid using pointers
many
Have to implement so many "goto _err;" calls
BinaryByter
Goto pointers aren't the pointers i'm talking about
BinaryByter
But in general, if you need goto's, you should revise your design

Icc (intel c compiler) uses instruction combinations that are bad for intel. Instead of using the fazt inc syscall it uses addition with one, which the intel cpu interprets as an inc

Don't use C

Or use the procedures that cpp uses internally in C
BinaryByter
You need stackunwinding for it to be well implemented

Else you will leak

Guyys best compiler for programming dev c++ vs codeblocks??
Use Clang and GCC, Clang will get you through most errors. Tho sometimes, GCC errors will actually make sense.
Vamshi
suggest me a good book for learning c.?
