Bader
yup
Bader
most are going to go.
Bader
speaking of which... I have this vision of a super light, C++ blockchain
Bader
like really simple, clearly defined rules, unbreakable cryptography
Bader
for governence, I'm a bit stuck. maybe I'd go with how many nodes you can run. the more nodes, the more reputable you are?
Anonymous

Unbreakable Crypto? Where are you going to get that?
Bader
lol I don't know :P that;s why it's a dream and not a reality
Bader
hmm
Bader
maybe everchanging private keys
Bader
they auto change, meaning that even if they get leaked, they will eventually change
Bader
actually the closest thing I found was a blockchain called Catapult by NEM
Bader
it's writtent in c++, been in the code a lil bit
Anonymous

Change private key means change the public key, and if you change the public key how will you identify the nodes?
Anonymous
Still changing keys is good
Anonymous
Ooh
Bader
i dunno haha ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anonymous
Sign the new key with the old
Bader
oh interesting!!
Anonymous
And other nodes disallow signings from the old key after a change
Bader
it's put on a "blacklist" of obselete keys...
Bader
I like that
Anonymous
it's put on a "blacklist" of obselete keys...
But that blacklist would have to be signed aswell
Bader
true, sign-ception 😆
Bader
I def need to read more on this
Bader
because I think blockchain as a technology should come first, not all those silly cryptos
Bader
they should be there, but not come first.
Bader
as in, don't put the cart in front of the horse :P
Anonymous
Cant have blockchain without crypto though and I think we need to focus on implementing PKIs for PQ safe algorithms before the Quantum Computers get too powerful
Bader
yeah definetly agree
Anonymous
People whine about "but the possibly PQ safe algorithms havent been tested enough" yeah but we know for sure that what we are using now definitly wont work eventually, so we need hybrid crypto, combining what we know is safe against conventional computers with what we reasonably believe could be safe from QCs
Bader
man I love that. i would love to create someting revolutionary like that
Anonymous
You CAN, there is a library called "libpq" or "libpqssl" or something its openssl with the PQ algos patched in, its up to programmers to start using it
Anonymous
Hii i am new to this grp i wanted know about C and C++
Arif
Great group ?

I think its a C/C++ chat, no?
Anonymous

Episode 23 Had a real popular podcast episode and I was curious to get some feedback and hear what you guys thought? https://fringe.fm/23-robots-that-could-beat-world-cup-champs-and-how-governments-can-work-with-and-plan-for-artificial-intelligence-and-effect-of-ai-on-jobs-and-society-with-prof-peter-stone/ What do you think? Hope it is okay to post this here, if not please let me know ASAP. Thanks, In our wide-ranging conversation, we cover many things, including: Why the general public is confused about artificial intelligence What is cutting edge in the space of robotics and AI How Peter and his team are perfecting soccer robotically The big problem with government action/inaction when it comes to AI The different types of AI and machine learning and advantages of each How Peter and others think about consciousness with machines The problems Peter sees with hype and fear mongering The implications to healthcare and quality of life in an society with increased automation Peter’s recommendations to governments and regulators on AI Why Peter believes we are still a long way off from AGI Why AI is overhyped and underhyped https://fringe.fm/22-software-is-eating-the-world-and-ai-is-eating-software-with-amir-husain/ https://fringe.fm/23-robots-that-could-beat-world-cup-champs-and-how-governments-can-work-with-and-plan-for-artificial-intelligence-and-effect-of-ai-on-jobs-and-society-with-prof-peter-stone/

any idea why this code isn't working ?
Anonymous
it just goes strainght forward to the default case
Anonymous
even using if / else if gives the same
Anonymous
and the odd part
Anonymous
it runs the q key when its defined to exit the app
Anonymous
but don't run when the u is pressed
Anonymous
same thing happened using if / swtich
Anonymous
any thoughts ?
Anonymous
ah , thanks god , didn't get kicked out because this number of forwards lol

I know difference between IDE and compiler
Anonymous
But I was saying the default compiler settings of codeblocks was not able to build my code

Hi I'm fairly new to coding and C++, I know how to compile on Linux, but I have no idea how to do that on windows, can anyone help me please?
klimi
you need a compiler
klimi
you can use mingw for it
klimi
or you can use msvc compiler (microsoft one)
