Anonymous
maybe ATS2 if you want to go more complex
Anonymous
c++ typically have bad libraries for web dev (boost has none if i recall)
Anonymous
my bad just looked it up there is some boost stuff

What's that
That's what heppens when you say this: "I do a thing called what I want."

i still against using either c++ or go for your backend
Anonymous
c++ has poor error management techniques
Anonymous
and go is too immature to fully see the holes in the code
Anonymous
Please explain file handling in c

Hey thanks!
It's this C++ Primer (Stanley Lippman, Josée Lajoie, and Barbara E. Moo) NOT C++ Primer Plus (Stephen Prata).
But I prefer Programming: Principles and Practice Using C++ by designer of C++ himself 'cos the book is highly beginer friendly

i am currently using Haskell for most of my server sided codes

exceptions in C++ are broken still
Anonymous
they do not provide enough information
Anonymous
but even if you do manage to set up exceptions with a way to provide a lot of information about what caused the problem
Anonymous
you have a function so deeply nested it is completely illegible
Anonymous
a server that connects and controls a few robotic applications
Anonymous
i have to use CIP for that as well
Anonymous
haskell does not have a CIP protocol unfortunately so i had to make one myself for that
Anonymous
on the client side i used CIPSter
Anonymous
for the devices capable of running C++
Anonymous
for the plc ladder logic we have a library like thing for CIP
Anonymous
so we used that
Anonymous
well i believe we use basic and communicate with the PLC there
Anonymous
and then basic has the library with CIP
Anonymous
oh very much so for several reasons
Anonymous
only disadvantage is that normally functional programming langauges are slower performance wise
Anonymous
but we are getting to a level that is starting to get minimized
Anonymous
with the compilers becoming smarter
Anonymous
i work for several companies
Anonymous
mostly working on making a consulting firm later on once i find people better at accounting then me
Anonymous
professionally or for fun?
Anonymous
for fun about 11 years
Anonymous
only 5 years REALLY professionally
Anonymous
about another 2 where i did a few freelance jobs
Anonymous
i work in robotics
Anonymous
mostly computer vision and embedded systems
Anonymous
but have been told to branch out more into intelligent system designing/path planning and different data analytics
Anonymous
i am working on one at the same time
Anonymous
3rd year into it
Anonymous
out of 6 years
Anonymous
because i am doing a honors spec in comp sci as well
Anonymous
biggest mistake
Anonymous
but i barely go to classes anymore
Anonymous
so eh?
Anonymous
no i go to the hardware classes
Anonymous
because there is something to learn there
Anonymous
software is getting much much worse
Anonymous
we are oversaturating it with poorly trained people
Anonymous
this in turn will drive the money and jobs available down
Anonymous
and most of those things you learn there is shit, and sometimes you get a diamond in that shit
Anonymous
on stack overflow they had this one post that said one thing
Anonymous
for git
Anonymous
i told the guy to do it another way
Anonymous
and that guy did it the stack overflow way
Anonymous
and we lost half the data
Anonymous
this is completely false the bigger companies actually attract the lower skilled workers
Anonymous
because they work on what the investors want as opposed to working on what is interesting to the developers
Anonymous
and few people get into the good areas in these big companies
Anonymous
from seeing some of the people they hired
Anonymous
they hire some pretty shitty programmers
Anonymous
they care WAY WAY WAY more about political correctness now
Anonymous
so that skill level will drop
Anonymous
in fact there are public documents stating that google actually lowers the standard of coding for these minority groups
Anonymous
which they interally set themselves
