Hello! I am reading the book of Steven Prat in the C language. For me, the book is very voluminous. Should I read c programming kernighan and ritchie? don't you think that it is out of date?
Anonymous
Preferably the C++ book

So what? Are you a 3 yo kid?

Hello. Do you know any simple gui toolkit for C or C++? I don't need to do complex graphics, even w95 style would be ok.
Dima
Try "dear Imgui” (yes it’s the name)
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
Uhm
Dima
It’s immediate render ui though

This one ?

Yeah
Dima
Or Vulcan (I think it’s the right name) for C
Dima
No, it’s Nuklear
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
Dima
I can't find it anywhere
It’s called Nuklear, I forgot
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
I'd recommend Qt
I think it's a bit overkill for my task
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
Dima
Dunno, I prefer Qt
Suggest him to use boost lol!

Dunno, I prefer Qt
I know it is simple, but it's too huge
Dima
everyone be like ‘use boost'
Anonymous
Suggest him to use boost lol!
There's Boost.Ui though
Anonymous
But it is not merged into boost
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
I know it is simple, but it's too huge
(not in terms of memory but why to install 2g+ of libraries for a single form application)
Anonymous
and it seems dead

Yeah

I think I'll go for FLTK It seems simple enough still you can create complex forms with it.

😂😂
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
Anyway it's not that I don't like Qt I actually appreciate it But it's overkill for the task
Anonymous
That's really annoying, but it is the price of free access to Qt Framework
Anonymous
You can link Qt statically, but only if you have a licence
Nomid Íkorni-Sciurus
Oh well.

I have function with vector iterators as arguments. If I change any value using these iterators, my original vector from the calling function should also change. How it is possible? I am trying to pass these iterators as reference but it is showing some error
Liam
iterators hold pointers to elements stored in the original vector.
Liam
what's your expect behavior?
Anonymous

I also thought so. Changing any value in iterator should change the corresponding container value.
Anonymous

I am trying to implement sort using iterators only.
Anonymous
Something like MySortFunc(vector.begin(),vector.end());
Liam
copy that. then, this is exactly what you want from iterators.
Anonymous
Okay.

You can think of iterator as pointers. Pointers are special case of iterators actually. You can use pointers as iterator for iterating through vector, array. And iterators of these data structures are actually just pointers.
Anonymous
But afaik many implementations use class wrappers around a pointer
