Yeah

It's a long way I think
Anonymous
Probably
Mat
to write good codes to be better programer
You want to be a Clean Coder :D
Anonymous
but many times I can't
Stefan
you're writing qt programs and im self employed...ironic

but definite qt users
Stefan

Darik
What the fuck did I do? Huh
Anonymous
qt is popular these ...days
Stefan
you techincally can't
Anonymous
Stefan
but you can try and dump its embedded NVMe chip
Mat
You can't write good code?
Anonymous
You can't write good code?
Many times I don't know what is good code even to write it
Mat
Many times I don't know what is good code even to write it
I'm reading a nice book, Clean Code. You can give it a try
Stefan
purely subjective, no objective metric
Stefan
old people like global state because they're, well, adapted to it, or they make great money with global state despite not knowing how harmful it is
Anonymous
"Old people" lel
Mat
purely subjective, no objective metric
There is good code and bad code
Anonymous
I'm reading a nice book, Clean Code. You can give it a try
It was recommended in my office but I have not read it yet
Stefan
"Old people" lel
ask the people who've written bison/yacc
Stefan
and see how shitty is tcc's internal code
Anonymous
ask the people who've written bison/yacc
There are also "old people" who write good and modern code.
Stefan
There is good code and bad code
i refute to give responses
Stefan
There are also "old people" who write good and modern code.
tell me, why are compilers non-reentrant at the beginning
Anonymous
tell me, why are compilers non-reentrant at the beginning
Ask the author not me. But this has nothing to do with the fact that there are "old people" who can write good code.
Anonymous
I read many books about effective and clean and standard code ,but they are useful when write a free function but when do project may oop is useful
Stefan
just purely speculative and personal stuff
Stefan
There is
i can argue recursive code is beautiful
Mat
int a,b,c,d; Will never be good code
Stefan
some people find dynamic programming good i dont
Stefan
i always do
Stefan
under urgency
Mat
under urgency
So you write bad code under urgency
Mat
No problem, but it is bad code anyway
Stefan
So you write bad code under urgency
then all competitive programmers are writing bad code yeah, i agree, literally not sarcastic
Mat
then all competitive programmers are writing bad code yeah, i agree, literally not sarcastic
Yes. Usually you (not you) think bad code will help you go faster
BinaryByter
int a,b,c,d; Will never be good code
unless you are following a math paper (source included) which specifically uses those variables
BinaryByter
then you *might* get away with it
BinaryByter
competitive programming is 1) a joke 2) not about writing good code
Stefan
they are
yeah, i usually dont know what the top 10's are writing in their solution
BinaryByter
BinaryByter
competitive programmers are not good programmers
BinaryByter
they are techies or mathematicians at best
BinaryByter
yooooo that's too hasty
those who only do competitive, atleast
Stefan
they are techies or mathematicians at best
but it is necessary to use them as a way to get interview chances
Mat
competitive programmers are not good programmers
You can do competitive and be a good coder. But it's really hard and you need to be very good and exercised
Anonymous
Why competitive programer write bad code , good code need more time ?
Stefan
You can do competitive and be a good coder. But it's really hard and you need to be very good and exercised
sadly, the people who can have both side balanced is very rare, under my observation
Stefan
you had 3 hours to finish 5 questions that are very fucking challenging
Mat
Why competitive programer write bad code , good code need more time ?
Nope. Good code needs exercise, hard training and good problem solving
Mat
Nope. Good code needs exercise, hard training and good problem solving
Plus a good organized way to write the code you want to write
Anonymous
😜ོ
Anonymous
I never did something like competetive. Is this such a big thing in USA etc?
Stefan
the reason is that comp programming requires you tentative algorithm knowledges and people who likes algorithms doesnt care about code style because they only seek them as tools to achieve a mathematical goal
Anonymous
Hmm I see
Stefan
you know, the always-second-place -after-russia
Anonymous
Here in India too..
Anonymous
well China has many programers write good codes
Anonymous
😕
BinaryByter
both china and india have some awful programmers
