Tbh I personally never use using for namespaces, but if the big boi Bjarne do, I guess it may be an okayish practice, it is even less armful when used inside of a block tho
Actually at isocpp.org itself stands you shouldn't use it. And there are alternatives like "using std::cout;" and so on. I don't really care about what bjarne do or say, I only care about working and maintainable code.

Okay
Ludovic 'Archivist'
meh, bharne cant be a reference for everything
Yeah, ik, I don't even teach it when I teach C++ before I teach template metaprogramming
Ludovic 'Archivist'
I teach it exactly when I teach inline namespaces
MᏫᎻᎯᎷᎷᎬᎠ
Yeah
MᏫᎻᎯᎷᎷᎬᎠ
What is inline namespace
MᏫᎻᎯᎷᎷᎬᎠ
And namespace without names
MᏫᎻᎯᎷᎷᎬᎠ
namespace {}
Ludovic 'Archivist'
What is inline namespace
It is a namespace that is expanded into its parent namespace

Ariana
64+4 iirc wait no
Ariana
64 is fast chunk
Ariana
So have size (4 bytes) fd (32/64 bits) bk (32/64 bits) data

I know a lot to C/C++ guys like to have a lot of clever bitwise tricks. May I know if you guys memorize those tricks beforehand? Or you guys come up with a shiny bitwise trick when you need it?
S.
Complex for me: like pop counting of an int

I'm stuck at learning c++. Any tips

😳
akaWolf
there are a lot of not so complex languages
Dima
and most of them are retarded
akaWolf
don't want another flame war, but Rust looks very nice in comparison to C++
BinaryByter
yes, C++ has some quirks
BinaryByter
and yes, you can shoot your foot in C++
BinaryByter
But on the other hand, if you stick to the guidelines, you won't
akaWolf
also if you don't need a speed I find Python is pretty nice for some tasks
BinaryByter
for some tasks
BinaryByter
for SOME tasks
BinaryByter
really, in python you can easily write messy code
Ritesh

BinaryByter
the goal is to minimize guidelines also
No, guidelines are important
BinaryByter
think of them like rules for handling a knife
akaWolf
guidelines are exists not from a good life I mean
BinaryByter
what?
BinaryByter
C++ allows you to do whatever you want
BinaryByter
its like that cool dad who lets you do whatever the fuck you want
BinaryByter
but the guidelines tell you what you SHOULD not do
Ritesh
Vim is really gud compiler for c++!!
BinaryByter
Vim is really gud compiler for c++!!
please tell me that you are trolling
akaWolf
vim is an editor, man
Ritesh
Ohhhh
BinaryByter
you didn't know that?
Ritesh
Actually I didn't use it
BinaryByter
ARE YOU KIDDING?
Ritesh
I use Dev c++
BinaryByter
I should stop losing my shit over such shits 🤔
Ritesh
K sorry 😅
BinaryByter
I use Dev c++
which isn't a compiuler
