I started with Mint, gone from it due to their "mediocre" update policy, gone to ubuntu, left for the update policy and the peoples push for closed source and selfmade crap poured into it that nobody else can use and finally just got fedo and am happy since

Word to the wise, don't get an ASUS ROG Laptop if you want to run Fedora
Buy a ThinkPad, Lenovo is a corporate hardware provider for Red Hat, ergo lot of devs uses a ThinkPad as a daily base work horse, so the support is amazing, they sync their release with the new procs intel release so they are intel based, everything works out of the box. I run fedora on an old X40.

Yeah right due to my specification i usually only come in contact which offer fulltext regexbased search in their functions or a list of all of them (atom/phpstorm...) or things you have to have used a while before being fluent in anyway (LaTeX)

But it is pretty easy to find a new and original battery for it, put a 9 cell battery, a ssd and max out the ram to 16 gb and you will have a computer that will last more than other brand in terms of computing power.

At the reddit.com/r/thinkpad somebody posted the same issue, it is related with the size/scaling of font due to HD panels. The workaround to solve it is on the archwiki.

Yes I read that also, but changing the scaling over xrandr make it really slow. I lived with font scaling only. Chrome scale works also. Currently I give window 10 a try. They also have some trouble with scaling 1.5. It has a blurry image. 1.25 works so far.

Hello, everybody) I am sorry for the stupid question, but I use Fedora 24, with Gnome. Is there any ability to change window title of a specific application from light to dark color? I tried to use GTK_THEME=Adwaita:dark gedit, it works fine but only for GTK applications. For example it does not set dark color to Konsole window title. Thanks)

Hey, has anyone here ever had experiences with fedora laptops occasionally just no responding to anything (not even Ctrl Alt F1-9 or SSH)? I've already experienced this on two laptops with different configurations, and different installs. Wouldn't want to give up fedora, since it just works so well, except for this one problem (and occasional reasonless restarts, but I group these problems into one category)

yes, usually due to high I/O load or a maxed out ram causing it to swap indefinitely providing an additional deadlock on high I/O steps to solve: Buy an SSD or switch to cfq as scheduler Use less ram if your Configuration lacks that if you have an SSD set to cfq on 16gb ram then none of that applies and your System is likely somehing you should put on the vugtrackwr
