i think maybe the reason linux software isn't as aethetically appealing and user friendly is mostly because it's designed by programmers

The problem is that many programmers think that design isn't worth the money/time as much as code

Telegram tryes to use appindicator, if it can detect what current desktop environment uses GTK3. You can't do anything about this. Only patching.
