Driver issue?
Maybe... but only related to Doom? It's a Nvidia card, but worked fine up to now.

I don't think so. It worked out of the box. I never installed anything.

I turned the laptop off. But Gnome works fine except the lock screen option.
I don't know right now. Try to search on the internet similar problems. I think that, using the driver provided by fedora (or an other linux distro), you have nouveau, and sometimes it acts weird because Nvidia more or less hate linux systems and the nouveau team receive little help from them (on the internet you can find tons of people complaining about Nvidia cards/drivers). Maybe with the official drivers all will work fine again. And if your laptop have an integrated GPU in addition to the dedicated one, use the PRIME function to use the last one with the open source driver (maybe for you is obvious, but i spent more or less one year before i realized i used the intel GPU all the time)

I do that constantly. I have Atom configured for automatic PlantUML previewing, use Sublime mainly, but like to use vim when working over an ssh or doing some quick edits and being already in the console
trying to get the best out of each, as each has its own upsides

why creating guis, it's a nice C++ ide in overall, has a really great code jumping and completion, not even saying that it formatted macros better than Visual Studio did (at least for me)

Don't think so, maybe if u wrote XML code and assign everyone button/signal u will be secure it, but even if so, that would be much much harder than using pyqt/pyside
U can't imagine how much qt do for u

WPF is .net which is:
- At least 40 Mb big,
- Proprietary (the WPF part)
- Only works properly on Windows
Qt is:
- Only 5.2 Mb big
- Fully libre
- Works on windows, macOS, Android, Linux, Hurd, ponyos... -> 'UNIX'/Posix
Depending on the distro you need to ship libstdc++ so you need additional 800 Kb but that's it
