well yeah I understand it on that level but I just open another window haha
having other window is what I do as well, but having them both and being able to do stuff using easy keyboard shortcuts are nice... ;)

Krusader comes close though

I think there is something in the repos, something something commander, not Midnight Commader.

there was Gnome Commander some time ago, also sunflower-fm and I think gentoo (file manager, not distro)... but they all were missing something

I use mc on GNOME, Caja on Mate... yes Caja still has F3 Dual Panel function, not the shitty: "You could use tabs for it" "You can open 2 windows and place them one beside the other" BS.

I kinda understand why nautilus doesn't have it, I mean if it's supposed to be a basic, simple file manager that you start from, then dual panels are not really "essential", even if comfortable to use

every feature means possible bugs and more work needed to keep the software running

@pionen http://archive.is/AuoaA

You kinda wish Mint had a lot more horsepower behind it

Cinnamon is really impressively designed, but tragically buggy

as with their other projects

xfce has its issues too sadly, but they dont generally bring down the whole system

Sure your sleek xul applications may run and all but - they cant be sandboxed properly, share classes across tabs and e10s is also a pain with them.

Since users on all platforms take the run to faster and more secure browsers chromium-based is quite the rage

I know the rationale
Palemoon is already a project that seriously lags behind the official ff in security, feature and other updates - i doubt it will gain speed anytime soon and i seriously hope it will not be used in production.

He can be and he can oppose change like every grandpa in history ever.

Fact is he can't keep up with palememe development and it will become harder and harder to maintain it - and mozilla will not move back.

Heck, i am glad mozilla removes xul and npapi in favor of e10s and better architecture - finally competing with chrome again.

Also finally puts all flash creators out of work so html5 can shine.

Tobias?

The only problem is that you cant directly convert an old xul thing to the new extensions

woob☭
02.06.2017
07:40:30
A few maybe, but then I'm seeing someone asking for an api for switching tabs with certain gestures or something and they're all "haha nah webextensions aren't for that lmao"

So that kinda crumbled what hope I had

But hey what am I gonna do, use chrome?
