https://packages.microsoft.com/yumrepos/vscode/ - looks like it is present in the repository, try refreshing your repos - dnf update --refresh if you use console

thanks got it know. i tried running dnf check-update and dnf upgrade to no use since yesterday and was about to remove and re install. That saved me a 2 hour effort of tweaking everything again to my taste.

it should not be a problem - AFAIK all configuration is stored in your home directory, so reinstallation would not delete it. I sometimes do the full OS reinstall and my settings are there :D

(don't bet your money on whether it would work or no though, no guarantees there, just my personal experience)

Michał

oh didnt know that. Does it also persist extensions?
I guess so. So if you value your settings, you may backup the folder and that's it

I have my ~/.vim and ~/.vimrc synchronized between my machines to keep the configuration the way I like it ? doesn't work that nice for sublime though

I like syncthing because it's practically zero configuration required, goes trough NAT without any problems, dynamic IP is not a problem, I need to exchange the key between the devices and rest just works without any problems at all

Which is, as you know, not good for security.

Or Firefox if that's your thing of course

chromium stable is always at a minimal 1 release behind chrome

I use chrome -beta ( at 59.0..33xx something) on a STIG'd machine like driving hybrid cars only takes a re-training

59 is higher that 57 last I checked

chrome ( google) pushes commits faster tahn upstream ( chromium)

i am on fedora 25 and i want to remove a repo

linux
06.05.2017
15:49:01
sudo dnf —disablerepo={fedoraname}.repo then sudo rm /etc/yum.repos.d/{reponame}.repo

Admin
ERROR: S client not available

linux
06.05.2017
15:49:12
that disables first then removes

linux
06.05.2017
15:49:53
then do a `sudo dnf clean all && sudo dnf update ' to have the cache cleared and reset

without the removed repo same is true for the addition of a repo just substiuite "disable" for "enable"

No Chromium Clone is worth it imho - most settings you can do yourself, ungoogled-chromium exists and you always have the problem that they take longer and longer to apply all patches on a new version, leaving you with known vulnerabilities
