So LXQT is kinda light and dietetic KDE for hardware with limited resources.

I do understand it, it's harder and harder to find x86 hardware in the wild. I sure hope Linux itself will still support it (and I'm pretty sure it will), so we will still have unofficial archs and whatnot

I mean, come on, there are enough volunteers to make 10th Ubuntu spinoff that will "just work" and "provide great user experience" by making everything look like a mac knockoff
if Pidora was existing, I'm sure x86dora will come alive as well :)

Gwindor

10:20:25
But should you?
Have to. Because I use x86 so wide that if doing LFS would be my only option of getting that archirtecture to work on Linux, I wouls do that.

Michał
25.04.2017
10:24:12
x86 devices can still be used, maintaining stuff for them is a certain cost and it's okay for major distros to ditch it, but as Linux and GNU will still support it, volunteers can make it happen if they need it

X86 is owned by Intel and they dictate what the platform can and cannot do
Poor countries should break free of proprietary platforms
