I am dockerizing a large piece of software, had the choice of either SLES or Docker...

Tough my current View is: "If it runs on the Customer Side or is a Production Website, Centos" else if its more private or Stuff inside a Company or my Home pc, where i have direct Access quickly its Fedora

And i happily pay the Price of backported older Software for the Rock Stability of it

We have one Customer running IIS and Windows Server and i told em "if you WANT to spend money but still less than right now, go RHEL"

We develop on Fedora, deploy on CentOS, docker containers are also based on CentOS.

Tough i am Sure they could spend more for 24/7 RHEL Support than for their Windows Licenses XD

I like the fact that RHEL is free for developers.

Exactly my Setup

Fedora as Home/Dev Machine and Powering my Microserver with OPNSense Firewall VM on it, Centos powering all the Production Builds and RHEL... we never had a Customer eager to pay for it

And i get scrutinized for every Second i take to do Updates or set up a VM like actual Development while letting a 3hour Windows Update slide because "thats the way it is"
