First of all, you're using "Korora" not "Fedora" that means they're using something "I don't know" but in original "Fedora and Fedora repos" when I install PyQt5 stuff and try to use it I have no problem at all . Proof : bpython version 0.16 on top of Python 3.5.2 /usr/bin/python3 »> from PyQt5.QtWebKit import * »> As you can see, everything is fine, you should probably switch to actual Fedora not that 3rd party distro probably most of us not even using it. Mine eats 1.2 out of 16 available, but I'd still recommend to use XFCE or LXDE if you need a smaller RAM consumption.

It widely depends on the environment. Mate and Cinnamon take less than 1 RAM but Plasma and Gnome Shell take over a GB

If you're looking for minimal RAM while still user friendly you're going to want to go LXDE/LXQt

If you actually want to get it as small as possible read up on something like i3 or DWM.

Hmm. I am trying to set up MPD to seek music at samba share. When I symlinc mounted share to /var/lib/mpd/music/sharedmusic, it doesn't see anything. I know that MPD can use symlinks, that is how I used it with my local collection (stored at ~/Music, symlinked to /var/lib/mpd/music). What might problem be with?

You can read the samba share from terminal???

Maybe you need to set the samba to allow mpd

I think MPD has its own user and user-group

Samba share is anonymous

No credentials required

And yes, samba is readable from terminal, because it is mounted in a folder.

That's one of my purposes of using Samba.

I urge you to try different WMs but if ram usage really matters to you in this age ( I dont know your use case or hardware situation ), use LXDE or XFCE.
