searched now on diaspora: neither autistici/inventati or ippolita are present so it doesn't seem to be popular even with (italian) hacktivist. They probably prefer to be more reachable by people and use popular social network or a blog

another free social network is Movim and it's based off XMPP. You need just a jabber account to use it.

I disabled it on my server becouse it requires you to login with local credentials and does not allow to enable login by public key

So it's pretty much security risk

hmm, i guess you can mount it by adding your home partition to /etc/fstab and point it to /home probably add something like this on your /etc/fstab /dev/you-partition /home ext4 defaults 0 0

Yes this is the easiest way, given that it was a fresh install... re-installing again isn't a big deal.

Hmm. There is the Fedora forum, but it's not official. I don't know much about it. Ask Fedora is a good place. You can ask a question and then immediately answer it.

/me would recommend that

Moreover, I believe that most of the questions people ask here actually are already answered on Ask Fedora

@Tobias4X - I dirty installed F25 over F24 a few weeks ago. I'm starting to get disconnected from my Wi-Fi. It doesn't come back up until I utterly turn off the network and turn it back on. Should I start afresh doing a clean installation or there's something else I can do beforehand?

(I don't have that much time to handle with a fresh installation and that's why I ended up installing over F24 but as I am facing this issue, I might allocate a couple of hours to get it done.)

I am using fedora since Fedora Core 4 never heard dirty install, it is upgrade. I don't think it is related to upgrade. I once removed network manager, rebooted and then reinstalled. But I had ethernet connection to configure manually while I have no network manager.

Part of the trick is configue manually the ethernet connection to not use network manager. Then after reinstall, set to use it again.

No sure it is the solution to your problem.

Yes. If you can configure manually your wireless connection, that may also work. But I do not like to setup wireless connection manually. Otherwise you have to download all packages needed to reinstall network manager without internet.

Again. It is something that I did at some point to fix some issues with Network Manager. Not sure it is your case. Have you try to boot using another kernel?

Yes. If you know how. I never do it and therefore I am not good at setting wireless connection from command line. I have never have a server using wifi.

Will try this tonight.
Before that... Try booting a different kernel

I tried three different kernels and none of them are working. The Wi-Fi connection goes down suddenly quite often.

I don't think I'd try to fix this as I dirty installed F25 over F24 as I stated earlier on. I'll allocate an hour and install afresh.

Do you have multiple access points? Both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz? Roaming might be too aggressive. As a last resort, you can use wpa_supplicant to lock to a single AP.

I had to do that for a while on my Yoga 900, but eventually I managed to write a kernel patch for it.

I don't quite know what you are referring to when you say multiple access points. Apologies for my ignorance. How can I use wpa_supplicant instead of Network Manager?

Paul

Eh... in that case, you might just want to try disabling 5 GHz first to see if that's the issue.
