there must be an easier way)

Yes. It's simply Wine. But builded from the same sources that they use for the supported Mac version.

I use ReText, sometimes Atom but it is slow to open even with an ssd.

Well, I use 4 different Python versions on the one of my servers inside containers. The same thing here.

this way is opponent to the very idea of distributed libraries, actually
I know. But there is the opposite idea that is spreading for cases like this. Like bringing Flatpak to the latest Fedora release out of the box...

it works especially when you want to change something in one place keeping the others isolated

A root server hosted at hetzner in Germany that is exempt from Mass Data Collection by law (officially atleast) that is running openvpn, a decent firewall like opnsense and in a container runs a tor node so you have lots of questionable traffic tjat can't be attributed to you even if its seized.

ideally share that node with a few friends and dont be the dick that looks at their browsing history.

While you are at it adding Https everywhere, Ublock Origin, Umatrix (and ublock websockets if using chromium), NoHttp and so to your browser, configuring them, setting a local "opennet" Firewall Profile with firewalld that basically only allows encrypted dns and https trough if the remote isnt in a adaway-generated hosts file can go a long way too

I personally view the week as starting on Monday, yet almost every calendar here in the US places Sunday as the first day of the week.

On that Note, i do use Evolution - up until now i used the "Send 5 Minutes later" Function in Evolution, but since Fedora 25 i could not force it to immediately Send it via "Send/Check" Button afterwards - is that new or a Bug?

that means that most sites wont work for you
Sites that should not be used on an open access point _or_ a paid vpn

Or on that matter anywhere really

And half of your http sites just dont enforce it - thats where https everywhere comes in

I use HTTPS everywhere

But limiting all HTTP is too paranoid
