Nope, since it's just pulling those PCI-e lanes and using them for other stuff, rather than using a tiny metal enclosure with a hot IC Directly inside of it

That is not at all true anymore. This is the amd of 2018, with good cpus, good performance, low power consumption and superb integrated gpus.

That's very good! I have the Express to 3x USB 3.0 and I don't store it in the laptop because it draws a lot of power.
