You could look up how most tasks, multi or singlethreaded, work better in which os or just look at what os runs in the top 10 supercomputers right now

Most directx calls can be literally just used in opengl by simple parsing and the rest of the games are soon vulkan compatible

And whoever develops for directx nowadays either doesnt know better, maintains legacy, doesnt give a shit about steamos and co or gets paid to use it

Try killing it by "sudo pulseaudio —kill" The goto your home folder and search and delete anything related to pulseaudio then "sudo pulseaudio —start -D"
