I did also run a ksvalidator to check my ks files, and it all looks good. And here are my kickstart files : https://gitlab.com/voidspacexyz/fedora-iso/ The iso generation command : livecd-creator —verbose \ —config=fedora-live-cinnamon.ks \ —fslabel=CustomISO \ —cache =/var/cache/live And the output of the command to generate iso : https://paste.fedoraproject.org/390014/

Create a kick start, and ansible for post provisioning
Someday, I'd like to do this. Just have to find the time to play with it!

? There are not linux drivers for you R9 300 M series. but there are for the 200M
Okay, cool, this is good to know. I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti right now, which is on the slightly older side now, I think (it was a gift to me from a friend). I don't need anything too high powered, since I only do minimal photo / video editing and a very minimal amount of gaming.

I think the poor quality or non-existence of drivers for devices (whether open source or closed) is not allowing us to accomplish the "this is the year of the desktop".

And Manufactures don't care ?, this is way many people non-technical don't try to make the switch, also the don't care or want to know how stuff works, they just want to use their stuff out of the box.

This is way I like containerized apps.

Ok, also for those that have flickering when playng a video. However I agree with those that say that the lack hardware with linux preinstalled is one of the main reason. It's a shame because linux for engeneers and other professionist would be great in my opinion.

Agree, I never have had an issue with an Intel base computer. I don't mind about not having high end up to date Graphic Card since I don't game at all, but costumers buy their hardware and want to use it with their prefered os out of the box. At the end it is manufactures faults.

You'd expect manufacturers to want their laptops to run a very stable OS so that they don't have to waste much money on customer support.

RHEL is not free (as in beer)
And I guess it's not really suited for the general consumer due to the lack of "mainstream" software.

Your average Joe probably wants to install Flash, Steam, VLC etc.

I agree. "Mainstream" software is more available in Ubuntu. For example spotify has a ppa only for debian/ubuntu but not for fedora/centos/scientificLinux/RHEL

But the command contains "stable" as release – which stands for Debian Jessie.

deb http://repository.spotify.com stable non-free

Maybe the thought "stable" referred to Spotify. It actually refers to the branch/distro where the repo is going to be used.

Being stable and having long term support are different.

Being a good server OS implies LTS imho. No company wants to have to re-setup their servers every two years I think.

I'm hosting a server that is currently running Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) PHP/5.2.6-1+lenny16 with Suhosin-Patch mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.0. Very ancient.
