It creates a launcher for you, you get updates through gnome-software like with any other app, it's at least partly sandboxed.

The launchet was created automatically when I downloaded it and ran the executable. The update are notified in-app so they are quite comfortable. Will I be able to open links with flatpack?

Short answer: noarch Long answer: It's always good to have a general understanding of the system you use. I'd strongly suggest to learn what architectures are (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures) and what source RPMs are (http://www.rpm.org/max-rpm/s1-rpm-miscellania-srpms.html).

IIRC you need to add it to your panel manually, it won't show up automatically.

For that, right-click your panel and select "Add new item".
