You don't own the truth, everyone is here with the same goal to learn, arrogance only hinders development.

should usb sticks and android phones connected via a usb cable(file transfer mode) be mountable in freebsd out of the box?
polyduekes

adb reboot with an option

adb reboot with an option
that command is to reboot to bootloader or fastboot, what i wanted to know was how to use fastboot, because both the freebsd fastboot and android fastboot have the same package name

but i figured out the fix for now

it's not vm sir. It's physical laptop

I did check on another Freebsd vm, but htop show the exact memory size

good to see that even with a full install with cinnamon and with my daily usual apps and with a chroot distro it takes so less space, really well done freebsd team even the boot time on my 14 year old hdd is really quick, really appreciable

like that your system recognized fastboot as the android fastboot and not the original command that freebsd has
SludgyWitch
i have the android-tools installed via pkg but i can't seem to get the fastboot running (for example fastboot devices when my phone is in the bootloader mode)
polyduekes
like that your system recognized fastboot as the android fastboot and not the original command that freebsd has
because only the android fastboot exists in the directory i cd in as you can see in screenshot and normally executed like you would with ./
polyduekes
i have the android-tools installed via pkg but i can't seem to get the fastboot running (for example fastboot devices when my phone is in the bootloader mode)
you need to use adb and fastboot as root to get your phone detected because of some rsa magic that only root user can do
SludgyWitch
oh dumb me... it was in the root
SludgyWitch
i was always used to run adb and fastboot as a non-privileged account
SludgyWitch
since that was what i was used to on linux
polyduekes

same but on a random thought i tried as root and the person who made the port should add that in readme or make the port to tell to execute as root
polyduekes
since that was what i was used to on linux
yeah, it's different on freebsd
SludgyWitch
anyways, thank you for this slight hint :) appreciated
SludgyWitch
and agreed, the maker of this port should get it to readme, it's not as obvious as it might seem to

man pages can give you a hint https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=iwlwifi&sektion=4&format=html Also I use it in my machine. From all the ones I've had, this chip has been the most reliable of all

Bell 2024-05-01 @ 18:45 EDT (22:45 UTC) - NYU Tandon Engineering Building (new), 370 Jay St, 7th Floor kitchen area, Brooklyn (directly across Jay St from National Grid office). Notice: You should RSVP for this meeting at rsvp AT lists.nycbug.org. You should receive an autoresponse email. ZFS is theoretically a powerhouse for data protection and performance, but only if you can dodge its many traps. I'll demonstrate the common ZFS pitfalls and their solutions, along with practical strategies to simplify and scale your backups. I'll also introduce Zelta, a toolkit of management scripts built on Unix fundamentals designed to help you master ZFS with finesse. (Bsdtv)

interesting insight to say the least (: ax stands for WiFi 6 iirc, and the intel AC9260 chip has support for 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (from tech specs here I'm not a network expert) There may be chips that can already go the full ac/ax standards in FreeBSD but I'm not aware of them
