Hello, any user of virtualbox as host on FreeBSD here? Seems with upgrade to 13.2 and/or openssl3 vnc functionality is broken. Trying to open guest console, asks for a password, but never authenticates?
Misak
Another question is - is there any way to mount guest disk on a host system, disks are VDI files

Vermaden:
The #FreeBSD pkg(8) is really great package manager but when You want to install multiple packages and one is missing then it will quit with message that single package is not available.
Here is workaround I currently use and it seems to work everytime:

Had to laugh, NVM to me means No Virus Message because obviously viruses in people and Nature do not actually exist, never existed. .. Anyway back to the point, I have been using freebsd for a long time, but since moving off grid and can no longer run a computer like I used to due to power restrictions and so on and have so much more to do other than sit at a computer, I did notice things like KDE and Gnome just start to crash the computer all the time shortly after logging in, and so just moved to another light weight desktop environment which does everything anyway. No idea why it crashes but seems a bit crazy why it should...

I believe there is an alternative to Crochet for image/iso creation, but can't for the life of me find the name..
something like mkimage or mkfs but not.

have somebody some expecience using libusb?? I am not able to detect the event. I don't know if i am skipping any step or some other program is blocking and deleting the events . It looks like all is ok and waiting, but the event never is received. I tried stopping the devd service, but the event never arrives too. Here is the code, it is a very simple example, just to enter in the func https://codeberg.org/carldcharlie/mothbar/src/branch/main/test_usb/m_usb.c

Next question I have.
My intention is to create custom images with private root CA certs and mTLS internally configured and locked down through the wazuh. So images that'll only operate inside the zero trust. Any concerns, practices or alternatives to creating these types of images. Of course the build steps will be secure. But does this happen in the wild? We talking pre-cloud init steps to fuse an image instance before booting, per se.
Just riffing on some thoughts for pure crypto envs.

We build custom, fully automated install ISOs for one of our products. 300+ packages included, ~dozen in-house components packaged. poudriere does 90% of the work, gitlab-ci does 8%, and me babysitting the whole thing rounds out the remaining 2%.

Any one can help with Ventoy and Freebad. Can't boot any iso (memstick,dvd, and so on). Any suggestions what I should do.

hi. can someone tell me a location from where i can download ungoogled-chromium pkg? thank you
X
i run: pkg update && pkg upgrade. i have in /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf (here is the content:
FreeBSD: {
url: "pkg+http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/${ABI}/latest",
mirror_type: "srv",
signature_type: "fingerprints",
fingerprints: "/usr/share/keys/pkg",
enabled: yes
}
).
It updated my pkgs, however it removed without asking me ungoogled-chromium. it also removed noto-basic, dconf and jsoncpp which broke my xfce. i had to reinstall those 3 pkgs. now, i cant install ungoogled-chromium because on latest it cant be found, only on quarterly. changing to quarterly finds u-c but it wants to downgrade all the packages that were upgraded.
X
why this? i really dont understand why you cant have all the newest version of packages in one place? why two separate lists ?
