Hi, can someone point me, I have 2 ssids active, and want to connect either one of them. Atm only one ssid is able to connect, is it possible to add another ssid into this line (/etc/rc.conf) ifconfig_wlan0="mode 11g ssid '1stSSID' DHCP"
Mmmm
search top left for ssid. add second network. to wpa_supp.........
I did use wpa_supplicant.conf but this time it is not working. Idk why. It connected at first but then wlan dropped it. No strange line read at the log.

A few ideas: 1. Check dmesg to see more logs and get a hint on the reboot. Also check rc.conf, boot config and BIOS settings (this last one shouldn't be but anyway. On which hardware are you running the os? 2. It does not debug in which language? (Not really familiar with code but maybe the debugger is missing some config file or it's reading a wrong dep location) 3. Linux and BSD are similar but not the same. Since it seems to compile, try running the program through the sanitizer or lldb/gdb to get a hint on where does it crash

I don't know if this will help you but I was using drm-510-kmod with amdgpu and I had the same problem you did. I then installed the drm-fbsd13-kmod package and the problem went away. However I'm using drm-510-kmod with no problems

but a I am creating small programs with C and C++ and ok gcc , but with my big ones that I made on Linux that I compile here don't want to go with gcc only with clang I get this memory error
Kraken🦍
maybe it's the memory constrictions of the FreeBSD kernel that handles the clang compiler better ? I remember that clang is from Apple and uses the same kernel gcc and from GNU
Kraken🦍
Other than that I only have one small problem to solve with the system the shutdown It doesn't shut down but reboots

Hi all, I've an freebsd fresh install with KDE. How can I command brightness via FN keys?

llvm/clang is the default compiler in FreeBSD. I suggest to check makefile flags and revisit the code. I also use FreeBSD for c programming, and while Linux with gcc forgives and handles some stuff on the back, when I first ported a Vulkan project into FreeBSD, memory leaks appeared and I had to rewrite the failing code. Also some compiler flags working on gcc make the program to freeze on clang

What program do you use to save commands with up on the terminal to me does not save them
Chad
He must be talking about last command recall? That is on by default or are you wanting it to remember after a reboot?

What do you mean to save?
If I exit the terminal and re-enter, there are no longer any commands that I have given in the past

"Operating Systems Design and Implementation" is a book specifically explaining how a unix-like operating system is implemented from scratch. It's about Minix, which was specifically written to be useful educationally

This book as a thesis is a reference for Computer Science and others. If you really want to know how a Unix or operating system works scientifically, you have the dinosaur book.

Os design and implementations from Tanenbaum and Operating system design from Comer are both focused on the internals, not on the usage itself, just to know.
