There was a Roman called Marcus Ginantonicus :) honestly Asterix was crammed with those clever sorts of jokes that are funny whether you’re 6 or 46, but often for different reasons :)

I named a dog after Tintin’s Snowy :) admittedly my Snowy was a Patterdale terrier and so jet black (it seemed funny at the time)

I came to freebsd from linux. And I'm trying to make it my second OS on my laptop. But I ran into trouble with Xorg configuration with hdmi display. I'm having Intel and descrete nvidia gpus with installed drivers and enabled kernel modules load on boot in /etc/rc.conf and /boot/loader.conf. Nonetheless freebsd boots into black screen on both displays although there're no errors in logs. Is there anything that can help reveal the configuration issue?

i've just managed to make external display to work with changing kernel module nvidia to nvidia-modeset. But laptop display that supposed to be working with intel driver is still black screen

i had an idea to try nvidia only for both. But if i try load just i915kms, laptop screen only works. And Im able to start xfce4 and witness 640x800 resolution + weird display setting like only 1 available resolution without extra depth setting or refresh rate or smth. Feels like driver cant properly handle laptop's dsplay

Well, I guess out ports are mainly designed for the dedicated GPU, but I'm not a hardware expert tho.
Nvidia+intel combo has always been kinda mess to deal with

This Reddit, Telegram, Forums etc is not helping people the way and extent it should. . So I'm making a YouTube channel (BSD for All) about how to install BSD on Every ThinkPad I could buy or borrow for that purpose. . I think that is the only way of making BSD more well known. . I chose ThinkPads as I had to choose anyone and that is what I have. . I may need technical help and that's why I've joined this channel. . Hope people here will help. . Will keep everybody posted. . Upload your hardware info with hw-upload(1) tool to see sstatus AND contribute to database. Then ask in forum with link to your upload.
