Mirco
what would be the model for this
idk your project, but the model will become the table in your db when you'll migrate it
It's the simplest workflow, study better Django docs and its tutorial and you'll understand everything

Hello guys!
I have a model 'card’ and I have a list of products.
I need to be able to make form with items from products model and integer field to type in quantity of elements.
And then add it to card with foreign key. Any ideas will be great
Mirco
It seems you have everything to build what you're talking about
What ideas do you need ?
Andrii
I have an idea, but not enough thoughts about implementation. I don’t know how to get quantity of some element. And I also need to have checkboxes to check which of them i need
Mirco
Is it like shopping list ?
Andrii
Yeah
Rajjix
Rajjix
Use the quantity in a selectfield in the cart forms and update accordingly of you want to continue to the checkout process
Rajjix
There are tons of ecommerce like tutorials out there you’ll find what you need if you just want the code
Andrii
Ok, thanks for advice

Hi Guys - I HV django Webiste running as self service portal so after user authentication ( from Corp LDAP configured in middleware ), user can execute some commands.
I would like to keep a track of user login/logout timestamp and all activities done during the session, including track of running commands. Could someone please suggest how to track user activity.
Rajjix
Just a suggesting is you would add a user table and update that table with a side function along authenticate and same for logout process and update timestamps
Rajjix
But i think this is too obvious to be what you are looking for
Anonymous
Thanks Asaad for your suggestion - this is one way of logging user timestamp. I found Django signals for tracking user activity - would that b better option.
Mr. Rude
Mr. Rude
Django keeps track of user activity
Mr. Rude
Its better to fetch that value from the request than to make your own function that does the same thing
Mr. Rude
Unless, you must do some action on user login
Mr. Rude
Like say
Mr. Rude
Force updating password or something like that
Anonymous
Thanks for the clarification Mr. Rude - reluctant to write yr name like this. U r nice -

Mr. Rude
Try removing _ too
Mr. Rude
Else will need to google
Mr. Rude
So you could fetch user model from request in template
Mr. Rude
With request.user
