Also, luac-files are different depending on the version of lua (5.1-5.3/luajit). If you want to decompile, you must check all versions. It's not very difficult but it can be dreary.

At my work, I use the v8 from lua in cases where I really need to run obfuscated javascript. This is not far off, because the emulation of the browser inside the llua.
