I couldn't find that, in italian news they said "all the cpus since 10 years ago", and this is very vague. Maybe phoronix has something more, they (he...) did some tests
Mike
Bad, bad, bad news :( are atoms involved, too?
Stas'M
Mike
Especially for database and file access
Mike
I really don't know. But looks even worse than phenom TLB bug

AMD said that their CPUs are not affected.

I guess we'll wait and see.

Interesting

Google Chrome testing is in progress
Stas'M
How he's planning to add network support to kernel?
Stas'M
this is very high-level things, that don't work without drivers
Stas'M
Is these just plans, or he already have something like code?
Stas'M
Dunno, I think they are same, just two different data transfer ways
Stas'M
But LAN can be faster

There's activity stream full of Google Chrome comments, don't you see it? :)

Stas'M
he know some dark secrets of processors

Alright
Marco
Apparently it has to do with prefetching, a feature introduced in 1995 with pentium pro
Mike
So, everything from Pentium pro and k6 is not safe anymore...???

yep
Олександр
That's because of debugging being enabled.

On some systems USB boot is really slow
Chungy
heh no. CD 52× can read faster than USB1, and then there's the higher speeds of DVD or even BD (though with prices of such, I kind of hope nobody's wasting BD-Rs for ReactOS :P)

blu-ray discs are like the other kinds. they can be any file system you write to it, but most typically ISO9660 or UDF
Chungy
and ReactOS should read from them if it already reads CDs/DVDs :p
Chungy
Why not?
Chungy
the max limit for a ISO9660 file system is like 4TB, and the max file size is up there too
