thats what
Eris
they think nasa images are only 3D renders, which is mostly impossible because there would be so much computing power just to render basically a birds eye view from the ISS e.g
Олександр
let's not discuss this bs in ReactOS chat

Say, is ReactOS able to boot from USB yet?
Олександр
yes
Олександр
Won't be in 0.4.7 though
Quinten
Why not? Is 0.4.6 able to?
Олександр
USB stack changes are being merged upstream now
Олександр
It is developed independently by vgal
Quinten
I thought it hasn't been able to do a boot from USB for a while now
Олександр
Official one - no
Олександр
But you can test unofficial ones @ http://vgal.ru.com/
Олександр
We did at the Hackfest

I downloaded the 0.4.6 LiveUSB and it doesn't seem to boot
Quinten
At least when using DriveDroid on my phone
Chungy
I don't think ReactOS ever had that, but it was a typical thing with Compiz on Linux.
Олександр
Had*
Олександр
I think it was dropped because of stability issues
Chungy
NT was always designed for multiple desktops at least (even though the UI didn't come until 10). The effect could with in the future...
Chungy
Sysinternals had a program to manage them in 3.51 through 8.1
Alisson
ReactOS don't boot on my computer lol
Alisson
It only boot with VMs for me
Alisson
This is very annoying, because I wish to see how it would run it on my real machine
Kirn
From 2010
Are you booting from USB?
Kirn
Do you have an optical drive?
Kirn
I suggest trying CD/DVD for booting
Kirn
also
Kirn
look into this: http://en.wiki.wintoflash.com/index.php?title=Error_BSOD_STOP_0x69_IO1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED_during_Windows_XP/2003_installation_from_a_bootable_USB
Kirn
I'm not sure how applicable this is to ReactOS, but it might be something
Alisson
I suggest trying CD/DVD for booting
I had a DVD of Windows XP, and the installation happened this same thing: blue screen
Alisson
I think that my BIOS only supports Windows 7+
Kirn
I think that my BIOS only supports Windows 7+
How does a BIOS support an OS? OSes generally do not rely on the BIOS.
Alisson
So it may be my hardware that is incompatible with it
Eudes

UEFI, some manufacturers only enable to support recent versions of windows, normally 8.1 and newer
Kirn

I understand that much, but that's more an issue of the bootloader, per se.
Alisson
Now I started it in debug mode, and it stopped the boot reading this driver file

In some machine you can, but OEM (HP, DELL, LG) normally they are locked
Stas'M
Depends on firmware
Alejandro Jeditobe
Just google for model of your hardware
Chungy
UEFI isn't something to disable, but they often include a BIOS emulation mode anyway
Eudes

The new one doesn't emulate bios, it's just UEFI (that's why only work for Windows 8 and newer)
Yeonung
BIOS emulation can be forced if you enable options such as CSM / Legacy boot in UEFI firmware settings menu
Yeonung
Just make sure secure boot thing disabled and CSM/Lagacy boot options enabled if you want to test ReactOS booting in real machine
Yeonung
I thinks that BSOD thing is related with OS internal issue not UEFI. ReactOS will not boot with USB flash drive as long as I know. (And even for CD boot, there's no guarantee it can boot sucesssfully - since real machine has unlimited number of hardware combination)
Stas'M
🤔
Stas'M
This is 0.4.6 or nightly?
Stas'M
Or custom build by vgal?
Stas'M
0.4.6
Not big surprise
Stas'M
Try custom builds by vgal
Eris
not relevant to reactos
Eris
try again

Yes, send links without explaining what they're good for and why it could boost ReactOS's Developement or how that's ReactOS related at all.

Lol

It would be more effective to use ReactOS on football games during the streaming on big monitors
