wow! i’m using mid 2010 i can see you’re using docker
I basically had to install that because a co-worker developed a tiny docker container that does some VPN and Proxy magic for one of our customers.
Arminio
Works nice.
Arminio
But yeah if I could choose the OS in use everywhere, it would very likely be FreeBSD in most situations.
Arminio
I get the impression that I'm in control, and that I can actually understand what's going on in front of me, with FreeBSD. That's an impression I got back then when playing around with FreeBSD version 4. That was actually my first BSD desktop operating system.
Arminio
It has never stopped feeling like that for me with FreeBSD, that's the operating system that didn't let me down.

As for FreeBSD, my remembrance says that the .iso files aren't "hybrid" and you need to use the .img "memstick" images if you want to directly dd them onto a USB flash drive.
Anonymous
so rename in img? works? i dont know how to handle this. is new for me...
Anonymous
and , if i want to install nearby the bootmanager, opensuse. should i partition the free space an the ssd or leave it unpartitioned?
Anonymous
its only one harddrive
Anonymous

i have to say, that i wonder how friendly the bsd community is. not as the linux community i dont know what problems they have with "noobs" i use via telegram a fedora community also because opensuse is also on rpm.

Константин

FreeBSD uses raw partition, linux use partition preformatted with 'mkswap' utility so you can attach linux swap on FreeBSD, it will working but after that linux will not use this partition without doing 'mkswap' again
Anonymous
thanks
Anonymous
